What to Bring to the Retreat?

The Weather at GOTA can be hot during the day and cool in the evenings. Our schedule includes outdoor daily walks on unpaved trails, daily devotionals, use of sauna, classroom lectures and inter-active cooking demonstrations. Best to bring clothing that is comfortable and dress in layers. Your private room includes a queen size bed and a full-size bed as well as a private bathroom with linens, pillows, towels, soap, body wash, shampoo & conditioner.

Prepare for the fluctuating weather and diverse activities at GOTA with these suggestions:

  • Clothing: Opt for comfortable attire that can be layered, as temperatures vary throughout the day. Lightweight fabrics are ideal for daytime activities, while warmer layers will be appreciated in the cooler evenings.

  • Footwear: Bring sturdy walking shoes or hiking boots for the daily outdoor walks on unpaved trails.

  • Personal Toiletries: While linens, pillows, towels, soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner are provided, feel free to bring any additional toiletries for your comfort.

  • Sun Protection: Shield yourself from the sun with sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat during outdoor activities.

  • Hydration: Stay hydrated by carrying a reusable water bottle with you at all times.

  • Note-taking Materials: Have a notebook and pen handy for jotting down insights during classroom lectures and devotionals.

  • Comfort Items: Make your stay more comfortable with personal items like a favorite pillow or blanket.

  • Swimwear: If you plan to use the sauna don't forget to pack swimwear. Also, bring an older swimsuit for use with the mud/clay sessions.

  • Snacks: Keep energized throughout the day with your favorite snacks.

  • Camera or Smartphone: Capture memorable moments during your retreat with a camera or smartphone.

  • Medications or First Aid Kit: Bring any necessary medications and a basic first aid kit for emergencies.

  • Reading Material: Relax during downtime with a book or e-reader.

  • Reusable Bag: Bring a reusable bag for carrying items during outdoor excursions or souvenirs.

  • Portable Charger: Keep your electronic devices charged with a portable charger.

  • Light Jacket or Sweater: Be prepared for cooler evenings with a light jacket or sweater. Also, the lodge is air conditioned and may require a light sweater at times.

Your private room at GOTA includes a queen size bed, a full-size bed, and a private bathroom stocked with linens, pillows, towels, soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. With these essentials and amenities, you'll be ready for a fulfilling and comfortable retreat experience.
